Nadia Tian on the “Evolving Healthcare Landscape” Panel

On March 6th, 2020, the Co-founder of Bridge Point Capital, Nadia Tian joined the “Evolving Healthcare Landscape” panel during the 15th Annual 15th Annual NYU Stern Private Equity & Venture Capital Conference.

The conference was held in the New York Athletic Club, one of the most prestigious private social club and athletic club in New York City. This year, speakers from renowned firms such as KKR, BlackRock, Riverside, BoxGroup, Apollo and etc are invited to discuss topics include healthcare, growth equity, real estate, operational value creation and many more.

As one of NYU Stern's largest conferences, this one-day event brings together 350+ private equity and venture capital professionals, academics, and students to engage in an exciting discussion of the most prominent issues in today's alternative investing space. In the symposium of which the central theme is "Evolving Healthcare Landscape", Nadia first discussed the outlook for emerging vertical sectors, such as Digital Healthcare and AI Healthcare, based on the understanding of these sectors that Bridge Point Capital acquired from practice. When asked about her opinion on the entrance of Amazon, Walmart and other retail giants into the healthcare space, Nadia said, “The fact that retail giants are swarming into the healthcare industry will undoubtedly enhance the accessibility of healthcare services. This is a shift of healthcare interface into more ‘consumer-friendly environment’. We focus a lot on consumer health investment, and this shift validates our investment approach and does not replace it.”

Nadia also shared her opinion on the impact of the global outbreak of the COVID-19 virus on the private equity investment market - a typical 'black swan event'. The epidemic is shattering investor and market confidence, which may even send the global economy into recession in the foreseeable future; but as investors in the healthcare industry, we should also recognize that the healthcare sector consistently outperforms in hard times. As an active player in cross-border investment, Bridge Point Capital is passionate about utilizing its resources and experience to timely deliver advanced medical technology and services to countries and regions that are affected by the virus outbreak.

"It is a great honor to be invited to participate in the private equity venture capital annual conference as an alumna, and I look forward to more collaborations between Bridge Point Capital and NYU Stern in the near future." Nadia said after the meeting, "As one of the top business schools in the world, NYU Stern has trained countless financial talents working in a variety of industries. Sharing my experience with many outstanding alumni means a lot to me and to Bridge Point Capital.”
