Updated: Apr 21

As the Bridge Point Capital’s (BPC) Spring 2021 group of interns from Columbia University’s M.A. Biotechnology Program finished their semester activities, they are taking with them not just a resume experience, but invaluable skills that will help them prepare for future career in industry. This spring, interns from Columbia University and other prestigious universities collaborated to work with an industry partner of Bridge Point, and gain credits for their study.

BPC has a long history of collaborating with Columbia University and has attracted a steady stream of highly skilled interns to take part in industry-level projects. Intern roles varied from market research, scientific/business due diligence, investor outreach, go-to-market strategy analysis, risk evaluation, and more.

“The interns were able to team up during various presentations and bring value to the team and the firm. We are delighted to work with Columbia University and all these talented minds. They brought a fresh perspective to the team and our Company.” said Mark Young, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Bridge Point Capital, “BPC is looking forward to continuing to forge a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship with Columbia”.

BPC strives to provide a highly engaging environment, allowing interns to freely communicate with the team and voice their thoughts. Interns were also able to learn from study sessions on accounting, career advice, and presentation critiques to better prepare interns to better excel both in and out of the classroom.

“The final presentation gave us the opportunity to highlight what we had accomplished during the semester, and BPC prepped us well for it. I appreciate the feedback from BPC’s seasoned private equity professionals. It was a great experience and I’m grateful for the career development that BPC provided,” said one of the interns from Columbia.

“We are all so proud of what the interns accomplished, and we always aim to provide interns with a steppingstone to greater things in their career,” says Nadia Tian, Co-founder and Co-CEO of BPC, “At the same time, having a close academic relationship with universities like Columbia enables us to clearly and efficiently evaluate our deal flow in the healthcare space.”
